A series of 3D renders for Scheme 01 for the Changi Airport Group Washrooms Tender Competition.
2024
The 3D renders for Scheme 01 showcase a creative approach to restroom design for Changi Airport Group (CAG). Collaborating closely with architects during the competition phase, I used SketchUp to model the designs, focusing on innovative layouts, material choices, and finishes that seamlessly combine functionality with aesthetics.
This project is defined by two radially planned layouts centered around ventilation cores, which ensure effective airflow and maintain a fresh and comfortable atmosphere. The curved walls and circular arrangement allow for efficient use of space, with each segment dedicated to specific functions, including unisex accessible facilities, gender-specific spaces, and urinals. The inclusion of greenery and natural finishes contributes to a serene and inviting environment, blending practicality with a calming aesthetic.
Key highlights include whimsical rest spaces with soft lighting, greenery-lined walls, and unique ceiling treatments that add character. The female restroom features private areas enhanced with natural tones and finishes, while the male restroom is designed to meet higher usage demands without compromising on comfort. This departure from traditional restroom layouts prioritizes both operational efficiency and user experience.
These renders reflect a thoughtful integration of nature-inspired elements and practical design, creating spaces that are functional, adaptable, and visually engaging for travelers.
